India Today: Why Gold And Diamonds Are Making Way For Humbler, Non-Precious Jewels?

Once upon a time, there was a pair of diamond solitaires, and a woman who loved some sparkle. But in those days she had to wait for a special occasion, and hope that her husband or father would buy them for her.

Enter the new Indian woman, who makes her own money and spends it as she pleases. She has a wish list of niche jewellery brands like Isharya and Outhouse, and she’s shopping for them online, at night, while she’s lounging about in her pyjamas. She is no longer waiting for special occasions or husbands to do the honours, and she does not want to break the bank over a necklace or a pair of chandelier earrings.

Health & Nutrition : Beat That Acidity!

Get wise about foods which cause, and help relieve, acidity.
Health & Nutrition : Beat That Acidity!

The stomach normally secretes acid that is essential in the digestive process. This acid helps in breaking down the food during digestion. But when there is excess production of acid by the gastric glands in the stomach, it results in a condition known as acidity. Dyspepsia, heartburn and the formation of ulcers are some of the effects of acidity.

Pritisha Jadhav, Dietician, SRV Hospital, Mumbai, list outs foods which you should opt for, and avoid, during an acidity bout. And she blames erratic food habits and timings as the main reasons behind acidity.

Acidity Regulators

Eat an elaichi banana or drink one glass of rice water (kanji) every morning on an empty stomach.

PC Magazine: Is Gesture the Future of Computing?

PC Magazine: Is Gesture the Future of Computing?

TWO RINGS TO BIND THEM

Computing command input mechanisms have gone from the DOS prompt to the mouse to gaming peripherals. But what’s next? Some say voice, but Siri, Cortana, and Google Now are still often comically lost in translation. Nod Labs says the future belongs to motion tracking and gesture control.

“There are too many issues with voice input and speech recognition,” Nod Labs founder and CEO Anush Elangovan told PC Magazine during a recent visit to the company’s Mountain View headquarters. “You’re often in a shared space and don’t necessarily want to be overheard. Much of the time there’s too much ambient noise for the computer to be able to isolate the exact audio stream.SP

“But gesture—quite literally on the other hand,” he said wryly, “is subtle, possible, and most interesting to work with.” And a nod is “the simplest human gesture, and we communicate human intent, so [the name Nod Labs] felt fitting,” said Elangovan

FRONTLINE: Corruption, Cronyism and Nepotism Against Jacob Zuma

Magzter Articles:

Charges of corruption, cronyism and nepotism against President Jacob Zuma have put the government on the back foot in a country already reeling under high levels of economic inequality and unemployment.
FRONTLINE: Corruption, Cronyism and Nepotism Against Jacob Zuma

President Jacob Zuma is under enormous political pressure, both from within his party and from the opposition, on an array of issues. His handling of the economy has been particularly under the scanner. Plummeting commodity prices have hit the South African economy hard, which is heavily dependent on mineral exports. The mining sector, dominated by big conglomerates, accounts for 35 percent of the country’s exports. It is the second largest economic sector after agriculture. Since the end of the last year, the value of the South African currency, the rand, has been steadily falling. Concurrently, inflation has been rising. South Africa has one of the highest levels of economic inequality in the world and an unemployment rate of around 25 per cent. Unemployment is higher today than it was during the apartheid regime.

South Africans blame corruption and cronyism for the problems they are facing today. A recent opinion poll revealed that 83 per cent of the people believed that corruption was on the rise in South Africa.

Backpacker: Tested: This Year's Best Outdoor Gear!

This issue is full of very, very good gear. But how do you separate the good from the great? Six months of backpacking around the globe will do it. Our testers hiked, camped, climbed, and paddled in heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind to winnow hundreds of promising products down to a few dozen finalists. Then we took those candidates on a final shakedown on the Lycian Way in Turkey, where we spent a week backpacking along the coast and in the mountains. We hiked all day and debated all evening, culling the list even further. What’s left? Eleven of the year’s most innovative products.

ADWEEK: Mark Wahlberg Gets Real!

Mark Wahlberg first took the advertising world by storm in 1992, thanks to his provocative, indelible Calvin Klein underwear campaign, which was shot by the late Herb Ritts. He’s been surprising us ever since, transitioning from Marky Mark, the rapper behind the ’90s hit “Good Vibrations,” to one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, thanks to films like Boogie Nights, Ted, Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Departed (which landed him an Oscar nomination). A decade ago, he made yet another bold pivot, branching into producing projects for both television (HBO’s Entourage, which was based on his life, as well as the premium cable channel’s series Boardwalk Empire and Ballers) and film (Lone Survivor, The Fighter and Patriots Day, his forthcoming drama about the Boston Marathon bombing).

Tennis: The Evolution Of Rising Star Madison Keys

Magzter Articles:

After a breakthrough season, the young American is taking matters into her own hands.
Tennis: The Evolution Of Rising Star Madison Keys

Before her first press conference of 2016, Madison Keys walked into the interview room at the Australian Open with a baseball cap pulled backwards over her head, a string of earrings down each lobe and a tiny silver stud in her nose. Her hair, still wet after a shower, hung down over her shoulders. Earlier that afternoon, after shaking off some rust and quieting a few butterflies, Keys had won her opening-round match at the year’s first major, and she couldn’t help flashing her trademark toothy grin as she leaned forward to banter with half a dozen members of the U.S. media.

It was a new year, and while these reporters had been chronicling Keys’ every move since her days as a forehand-pulverizing prodigy from Florida, this was in many ways a new player who sat before them.

Over the previous 12 months, Keys had cracked the Top 20 on tour and made herself a threat at the Grand Slam tournaments. Along the way, she had made many American tennis fans believe that there might actually be a future for the sport in this country after Serena Williams retires.

Cosmopolitan UK: Stop Being An Askhole!

Magzter Articles:

Always asking for advice on an unhappy situation? It’s time to do something, says Jameela Jamil.
Cosmopolitan UK: Stop Being An Askhole!

Askhole: a person who repeatedly asks your advice but never takes it. I have a few of these in my life. They are some of my favourite people; some of my smartest, funniest, most talented and generally wonderful friends. But they also drive me mad, although I’m sure I’m guilty too, with some of the poor decisions I’ve made in my time. For starters, I’d officially like to apologise to all of my loved ones for at least seven months of 2009, as well as March to May of 2013.

Since we’re on the topic, I’m aware that I didn’t make the best decisions last January. I’m also sorry for every time I’ve broken up with a boyfriend, let you slag him off to me, and then got back with him. I’m the most sorry for doing that.

Anyway, I digress.

It feels as though people are guiltiest of not taking the advice they seek when it comes to relationships. Some of us push the line much further than we’d normally deem acceptable in the name of love. When someone is miserable at work, they start entertaining the idea of a new job and, usually, start making moves in that direction

Fast Company: Will Google's Alphabet Pay Off?

Magzter Articles:

When Google became Alphabet, the rationale seemed simple: that a company of companies can innovate faster than a single large beast. But that's only the start.

Fast Company: Will Google's Alphabet Pay Off?

"It’s kind of counterintuitive,” Google co-founder Larry Page remarked a couple of years ago. “Normally in a business, you think about, ‘What’s the adjacent thing that I can do?’ But maybe you can actually do more projects that are less related to each other.”

Back then, Page was explaining why his company-whose mission, officially, is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful-had expanded to address everything from teaching automobiles to drive to researching ways to extend the human life span. At the time, the insight seemed classic Page, a heartfelt defense of unconventional thinking. Today it feels like something more: a premonition of perhaps the most radical, labyrinthine corporate restructuring of the digital era.

Page released a letter last August announcing the reconfiguring of Google into a conglomerate called Alphabet.

Bloomberg Businessweek: Brussels: Europe's Jihadi Capital

Magzter Articles:

Even before a devastating bomb attack hit Brussels on March 22, it was clear the European Union's capital had also become a capital of European terrorism.
Bloomberg Businessweek: Brussels: Europe's Jihadi Capital

The accused ringleaders of last November’s Paris terror attacks came from Brussels; so did the weapons used in an assault on a kosher supermarket in Paris last year. A Brussels resident killed four people at the city’s Jewish Museum in 2014; last August, a heavily armed man boarded a Paris-bound train in Brussels and tried to attack passengers before being overpowered.

How did jihadism take root in a city that’s one of Europe’s safest and wealthiest—not to mention the headquarters of NATO and other security-focused international organizations?

There are two sides to Brussels. One is comfortably middle class, with Eurocrat salaries pushing gross domestic product per capita to more than €60,000 ($67,000). Brussels’ bourgeoisie enjoys fine cuisine, good schools, safe neighborhoods, leafy parks - for much less than they’d pay in London or Paris.

The Atlantic: TV's Fake Language Master

ONE WEDNESDAY EVENING in January, David J. Peterson stood backstage at The Daily Show’s set in Manhattan, teaching Trevor Noah, the show’s host, how to speak Kinuk’aaz. No teacher could have been better suited to the lesson: Peterson invents languages for a living, and Kinuk’aaz, an alien language spoken on the Syfy channel show Defiance, is one of his creations. Others— there are about 40 in all— include High Valyrian, the mellifluous tongue of power players on Game of Thrones; Trigedasleng, a dialect descended from English and spoken by humans in a post-apocalyptic future on the CW drama The 100; and Noalath, a language used by druids on MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles.

In the softly lit greenroom, Noah and Peterson drilled a dialogue they planned to perform during Peterson’s interview, including a Kinuk’aaz greeting: Guderet k’agetirim (“Welcome to the show”). Noah slowly sounded out the phrase.

New York magazine: Expat Tips for When You Flee President Trump

By this time next year, it’s not entirely implausible that Donald J. Trump will be occupying the White House or, as he’ll likely rechristen it, Trump 1600. In which case, it won’t be too much longer till Mexico is separated from us by a huge wall. Then there’s Canada as a go-to destination, but for Americans looking to put a little more distance between themselves and President Trump, there are a wealth of other escape plans. About 7.6 million compatriots are already living abroad. Some go where their work takes them; others find they can work from anywhere with a good Wi-Fi connection—so why not choose a locale with a low cost of living and a thriving expat community? The U.S. also makes it relatively cheap and easy to live overseas. “You don’t have to return to the country on a regular basis to maintain citizenship,” says Muzaffar Chishti, director of the Migration Policy Institute’s office at the NYU School of Law, which cuts down on the trips back home. And you can vote absentee in 2020, if voting is even still a thing then. Joshua David Stein

Business Traveler: Macau's Mighty Gamble

Macau is well known as the world’s biggest, most over-the-top gaming capital. Where else could you enjoy an indoor gondola ride followed by the world’s tallest bungee jump? But its latest attempt at reinvention might be its biggest gamble yet.

Stunned by plunging revenues as a result of the Chinese leadership combating corruption and prolific spending, venues are scrambling to diversify their casino-led offerings, creating more family-friendly spaces, entertainment options and enhancing meetings and incentive travel.

As a result, Macau’s glittering Cotai strip now offers a Batman-inspired digital ride, a house of magic, a giant Ferris wheel and a 40,000 square foot Warner Bros-themed fun zone – and that’s just Studio City...

Hollywood Glamour

Melco Crown’s Macau Studio City, the city’s first cinematic-themed integrated resort, opened in October. One of the resort’s highlights is the iconic Golden Reel, a Ferris wheel in the shape of a figure eight set in the center of the hotel’s towers

Entrepreneur: How A Dance Trend Turned Into A Glowing Empire

Entrepreneur: How A Dance Trend Turned Into A Glowing Empire

Brian Lim preferred dancing in the dark. That’s how he is—modest, soft-spoken, definitely not showy. But at an electronic dance music (EDM) club six years ago, his girlfriend nudged him to don a pair of gloves with fingertips covered in blinking LED lights. It’s the sole tool required for “gloving,” a dance in which lit-up hands create light-streaked spectacles for (possibly but not exclusively intoxicated) onlookers. “I was able to captivate a small crowd around me,” Lim says. “It was a feeling I’d never had before.”

It was also the inspiration for what would become Emazing Group, Lim’s fast-growing empire of rave accessories. It did $7 million in sales in 2014 and $12 million last year, and is on track for $18 million this year. But his company started much more modestly, with a hunch: This subculture had a popular product but no go-to brand.

Lim tested the market shortly after his night at the club. He paid an electronics hobbyist $100 to affix keychain lights onto white gloves, then sold them under the name Emazing Lights through Craigslist and eBay.

Sportstar: Infantino: Emerging From The FIFA Inferno!

Magzter Articles:

Perhaps it was sadly symbolic of the changeless depravity to which we associate FIFA across the years that the announcement of Gianni Infantino’s success was made in ringing tones by none other than Issa Hayatou, the acting FIFA President, who has a record if not as long as your arm, well up to the elbow.
Sportstar: Infantino: Emerging From The FIFA Inferno!

Alas, it was all too plainly a question of would you rather be shot or hanged. Both leading candidates for the FIFA Presidency brought baggage behind them. Prince Ali of Jordan was unsuccessful after trying to delay the voting. To me he seemed the only convincing candidate of the five. Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa of Bahrain angrily denied Ali’s insistence that he had been a member of a committee which severely punished members of the country’s football team who had been involved in demonstrations against the oppressive regime. But even a local Bahrain newspaper reportedly disputed that.

The Italo-Swiss Gianni Infantino, who has been running Europe’s ruling body UEFA since the disgrace of President Michel Platini, insists on the absurdity of a 40-team World Cup tournament and has been far too close to Platini to justify any confidence. In the meantime, as though to emphasise the moral ambiguities with which FIFA is so direly endemic, the eight-year suspensions on Sepp Blatter and Platini have been commuted to six years. Why?

Wanderlust Travel Magazine: Your Guide to Wild Argentina and Chile!

Flight-hopping isn’t the way to really see a region. This is especially so when considering one as vast as Patagonia – shared by Chile and Argentina, striding over the Andes and touching two oceans. With this in mind, myself and a friend hitched our way down Argentina’s Ruta 3, from the southern edge of Buenos Aires province to the Magellan Strait, in search of a more intimate look.

And we saw plenty. The 3,045-kilometre highway runs parallel to the Atlantic coast. We dropped in on the Welsh Patagonians to see where their ancestors first landed in 1865, explored Punta Tombo and its massive penguin colony, marvelled at the cormorants and porpoises at Puerto Deseado, and visited San Julián, where Magellan met his ‘giants’.

Men's Fitness (US): Four Last-Minute (and totally legal) Tax Dodges!

Magzter Articles:

Whether it’s socking money into an IRA or HSA or even using your couch-surfing buddy as the basis for a deduction, here’s how to lower your yearly tax bill down the homestretch.

Men's Fitness (US): Four Last-Minute (and totally legal) Tax Dodges!
Ah, April. The smack of baseballs hitting the catcher’s mitt. Bright flowers blooming. That first lukewarm day when women walk down the street with practically nothing on.

Uncle Sam sucking your checking account dry on tax day.

I know, I know: We all want to live in a country with an army, paved roads, and clean water. But you don’t have to be a placard-waving Tea Party activist or Wesley Snipes to wish you could reduce the size of the check you send to the IRS in a few weeks. And good news: Though most tax-saving moves have to be made long before tax day, there are still a few financial maneuvers you can execute at the last minute to reduce your 2015 liability.

Even more good news: Congress even passed a few tax breaks last year that will help you, and this year’s tax-filing deadline is later than usual, on April 18 (pushed back because April 15 is a holiday, Emancipation Day), so you’ve got even more time than usual to try and shave a few Benjamins off what you owe. Here’s how.

Cosmopolitan UK: The Health Blogger Who Duped Us All

Magzter Articles:

Our social feeds are drip-fed with their images, advice and motivational mantras. But are these seemingly warm-hearted, hard-bodied wellness superstars really selling us a load of dangerous health juju in the name of cold, hard business? Cosmopolitan investigates.
Cosmopolitan UK: The Health Blogger Who Duped Us All

By last summer, Celia Learmonth had clocked up an impressive 20,000 followers on her Instagram account. A super-fit personal trainer with accompanying model good looks, she chronicled her exercise and diet regime on her blog and social-media accounts to a growing army of devoted fans.

Celia’s posts ticked all the right boxes – gym selfies of her toned torso in designer Lycra; artfully arranged bowls of protein porridge and berries; half-guzzled bottles of green juice, the occasional inspirational phrase (‘Be positive, patient and persistent’) – and, of course, the obligatory #avotoast. Her followers liked each post by the hundreds and hailed her as an inspiration.

But in August, the motivational quotes and healthy hashtags were abruptly replaced by a confessional post by the British blogger admitting that, rather than being at the pinnacle of health, as her posts suggested, she was seeking treatment for an eating disorder. ‘I shamefully admit that I am a fraudulent fitness blogger – or at least that’s how I feel,’ Celia, 22, wrote.

CBS Watch! Magazine: The Big Bang Theory - Revenge of the Nerds!

ORIGINALLY, THE BIG BANG THEORY didn’t explode so much as implode. The comedy’s pilot didn’t make CBS’ 2006 schedule, despite being co-created by Chuck Lorre, the uber-producer who’d handed the network a hit with Two and a Half Men. The producers then retooled the sitcom about socially awkward Caltech geniuses and the lovable waitress who puts up with them, and it managed to land a spot on the next year’s lineup…only to be hit, along with the rest of Hollywood, by the 2007 writers strike. With production promptly shut down, and only a handful of episodes hitting the air, it wasn’t certain that Big Bang would live up to its name.

Adweek: How Agencies Are Fighting Back Against Talent Raids by Tech Firms

Never in her wildest dreams did Helen Pak think she would leave the advertising industry to do creative work for a technology company. Then, three years ago, while on set filming a big-budget commercial, the evp and co-executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi got a phone call out of the blue. It was Facebook, wooing her for its Creative Shop—a group of creative experts and digital natives charged with developing marketing campaigns for brands within the Facebook platform—as a creative strategist.

Pak was skeptical at first, but ultimately agreed to join the team after seeing some of Facebook’s most recent hires. Creative Shop’s chief creative officer, Mark D’Arcy, promised Pak the chance to work with top agencies and brands. “The cultural perks and the employee benefits were miles and miles ahead of the ad industry,” says Pak.

Cosmopolitan UK: The Kardashians - America's First Family

Family portraits are never an easy thing to master. There’s always the giddy younger sibling who won’t play ball. Or the surly, skulking middle child who wants no part in such scenes of contrived familial bliss. There’ll be an imperious elder, too, and an impatient matriarch, and someone will always, always end up with their eyes closed. But when that family is The Kardashians? Well, cast your eyes right and you get the idea… These are, after all, the world’s most photographed sisters; women whose faces peer back at us from tabloids, TV screens, phones and billboards every day of the week. We are as familiar with their lives as we are with our own family members. Seriously, log onto any celebrity news site at any hour of the day and you can essentially get a real-time feed on their lives and movements. But behind the cameras, what are they really like? Maybe the British couple I met the night before, inside a small twangy barroom with a giant stuffed alligator in command of one corner, contributed to this time-warp spell: They were girding themselves for a road trip through the park.” Don't miss this exciting story!

The best place in SoCal to claim an ocean view and a breezy beach lifestyle: A Malibu Mobile Home Park that may be the most magical community on the coast. It's a balmy, cloudless spring Sunday morning. On a eucalyptus-dotted street, a husband and wife take a slow stroll with their two small pups. They pause to chat with a neighbor who is weeding her flower garden in flip-flops. Another woman, who grew up one street over in the 1970s, opens her front door and joins the conversation. Instyle UK: Pure French Perfection with Clémence Poésy

Instyle UK: Pure French Perfection with Clémence Poésy

‘I felt very embarrassed being in the pool with those kids doing amazing dives, while I just stood there in a flowery dress,’ Clémence Poésy reveals as she pops a mint into her mouth. ‘They were probably wondering what the f*** I was doing there!’ We’re in a car post-InStyle shoot, leaving a sports centre in south London’s Crystal Palace for Hackney in east London, where the French actress and Lagerfeld muse calls home. She’s ill with a cold and is bundled up in the back seat in a Christophe Lemaire tweed coat, teamed with an Acne jumper and jeans. ‘Actually, most of my wardrobe is Acne,’ she admits. We’re stuck in rush-hour traffic, and if it hadn’t been for me suggesting we chat en route, I get the feeling Clémence would have jumped on the tube home – which is pretty radical for someone who’s appeared in Harry Potter, In Bruges and 2012’s cult TV drama Birdsong, alongside Eddie Redmayne. Despite all this, Clémence says she only gets recognised occasionally in London, but the return of The Tunnel – an Anglo/French adaption of the Nordic noir The Bridge – might well put an end to her anonymity when she’s topping up her travel card

The Health Cafe: Baba Ghanoush, A Magical Dip!

Magzter Articles:

This delicious dip, that is so simple to make – can magically help you down any food you choose!
The Health Cafe: Baba Ghanoush, A Magical Dip!

It’s time to traverse new regions and lands hitherto unvisited. All you have to do is deal with ingredients familiar to the Indian palate, follow new recipes and as you relish these fabulous new tastes, we promise you will be transported to new places!

Dips are a versatile way to eat almost anything. They are great for starters, and are satisfying, filling flavors that help keep anyone eating healthy. Healthy dips are also a great way of helping one to stick to a three-day detox regimen, especially when you are switching to eating a predominantly raw, healthy diet for a few days.

My all time favourite dip is Baba Ghanoush. This dip is already extremely popular in world cuisine. It originates from Levantine cuisine – or cuisine that was inspired from the times of the Ottoman empire. This covers the areas of Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and parts of Turkey, Iraq and Cyprus.

ADWEEK: Need a Creative Breakthrough? How About A Hug

Magzter Articles:

In the age of communication via tweets, texts and snaps, let's not forget the power of a well-placed embrace.
ADWEEK: Need a Creative Breakthrough? How About A Hug

You can’t grow up in a large Italian family and not be a hugger. For one, it’s physically impossible to avoid the hugs. They come at you fast and loud and for all sorts of reasons. It’s your job to smile, open your arms and catch them. Yes, I’m a hugger. I dispense them with reckless abandon. You just got promoted? Bring it in. Your chocolate Lab died? That’s terrible, let’s hug it out.

And maybe that’s just me and my hug-filled upbringing, but it’s also our industry. As the CEO of an ad agency, I’m incredibly lucky to live and lead in a creative industry filled with highly emotional, highly invested people who treat each other (for better or worse) like family.

And seeing that Jan. 21, 2016 marked the 30th anniversary of National Hugging Day, it seems like the perfect time to respectfully champion hugs in the workplace. In a world when the innocent hug is being threatened by the sterile,

India Today: Therapy, That Heals Your Mind, Body And Spirit

This is a type of skin treatment done using fragrance. Aromatherapy is a healing process which affects the mind, body and spirit. It is important to choose a particular moisturising essential oil keeping its usage in mind and the aroma which appeals to your senses. For instance, if you are using it for therapy, then select what works well on the affected area. Aroma oils can often be combined for effect.

To brighten dull skin, mix one tablespoon oatmeal powdered with sour yoghurt to make a paste. Add cucumber or grape juice and two drops of rose essential oil. Apply onto the tanned area, leave for half an hour, rinse and apply some moisturiser.

Green tea heals blemishes and soothes the skin. It also flushes out toxins from the skin. Catechins, which are anti-bacterial agents suppress acne-causing bacteria and help regulate hormonal imbalances.

Entrepreneur: 6 Secrets About the Human Brain That Will Make You a Better Marketer

Researchers in a new(ish) field of study called neuromarketing are trying to figure out how our hardwired preferences affect the decisions we make. Put simply, they’re trying to determine how our brains respond to marketing and how this can influence our behavior—consciously or unconsciously—explains Andy Crestodina, cofounder and strategic director of Chicago web design and development company Orbit Media Studios, who speaks and writes about the topic. “There are ‘cognitive biases’ built into all of us,” he says. “We can’t help it. Marketing works either with or against these cognitive biases.”

What’s the interest? Grey Garner, a Nashville-based marketing and sales consultant for cloud-based software startups, has the answer: “The competition for attention is fierce, so knowing what lights up our brains gives marketers an edge that can help them win.”

So let’s take a look at some secrets of the human mind you can tap into from a marketing perspective.

WE ALL HAVE A PRIMITIVE BRAIN.

The amygdala controls our reactions and emotions, and it works much faster than our...

The Health Cafe: Nanobots, Technology’s Solution To Fight Cancer

Teeny tiny particles could be technology’s solution to fighting cancer.
The Health Cafe: Nanobots, Technology’s Solution To Fight Cancer

The poet Gilbert K. Chesterton says: "One sees great things from the valley, but small things from the peak". We have attained a peak so far as our exploration into the world of matter. In its discussion therefore and of nanoparticles in specific, the question often comes up... Just how small is a nanometer? Answer : There is roughly 25 million nanometers in an inch. Still looking for a better comparison? A sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick. A nanoparticle is 4 nanometers in diameter, which means it is 25,000 times smaller than the same sheet of paper. So what do we do with something that small? A lot really... Well, that’s how far we have progressed as far as nanotechnology goes. If you haven’t been living in the Amazon (no, not the website!), then you’ve probably heard of nanotechnology by now. On the other hand, if you have been living over the hills and far away – it’s about time to get a low down - nanotechnology beckons you to!

Savvy: Trending: Love, Lust & The Older Woman

Sumita Chakraborty spotlights the growing trend of younger men and older women bonding amazingly!
Savvy: Trending: Love, Lust & The Older Woman

In the Bollywood flick ‘Wake Up Sid’, Ranbir Kapoor’s character falls in love with a much older Konkona Sen, breaking all conventional diktats of fi lmi romance. If we are talking Bollywood, the chirpy Preity Zinta is dating the very dashing Gene Good enough who is 10 years her junior. As for regular people, did you know that almost one-third of women between ages 35 and 69 globally are dating younger men (defined as 10 or more years younger)? In India too, despite old fangled social constraints, the trend of younger men dating older women is actually catching on in a big way.

According to a recent AARP poll done in the USA, one-sixth of men in their 20s actually prefer women in their 40s or 50s. Furthermore, scientific research enumerates that the perfect mate for a woman in her 40s is a man between the ages of 22-25. And that’s just not only because of the ‘sex’ or the stamina of the younger male in bed. Women like the flexibility and sense of adventure of their more spontaneous, younger companions; while the younger men like the maturity and experience of the women.

Cosmopolitan India: How Normal Is Your Sex Drive?

Magzter Articles:

How often should we want sex? There is no simple answer, says Dr Emily Nagoski.
Cosmopolitan India: How Normal Is Your Sex Drive?

Doesn’t she like me anymore?

When he touches me like that, I used to love it, but now it’s annoying!

Where did my libido go?

I’m still madly in love with him and I want to have sex, but I just...don’t!

The questions you’ve just read in those bubbles are only a handful of the ones I get asked about sex. As a sex educator and the author of a new book, Come As You Are, about the science behind sex, pretty much every question I’ve been asked boils down to the same thing: ‘Am I normal?’ And the answer is often the same. ‘Yes, you’re normal. He’s normal. That’s normal, too.’

In fact, over the past 20 years, I’ve become convinced that the single biggest issue causing desire problems is that women get too focused on whether they want sex, and forget to pay attention to whether they actually like the sex that they’re having. So how can you shift your focus and maximise your sexual potential? It’s actually a lot easier than you might think...

Cosmopolitan India: Why You Need To Think Before You Tweet

Magzter Articles:

Yes, Twitter's unforgiving. But here’s why Rega Jha would much rather use her 140 characters than stay quiet altogether!
http://www.magzter.com/articles/268/155576/56e9d1c5d5aac

The routine is pretty set. Roll over. Hit snooze. Doze off. Finally I groan, stretch a little, and bring my phone over my face. With thumbs as my Virgil, the descent through hell begins. E-mails first, a glimpse at the day’s impending tortures. Then WhatsApp, where every morning the 34 notifications I’m excited to unveil turn out to be forwards from extended family. Texts, most of which are from McDonald’s (RelationshipGoals), and then the holy trifecta of selfie repositories: Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook. Finally, I open Twitter and scroll my way through vitriol into wakefulness.

One morning last year, the routine ended with a decision. Like many women on Twitter, I often found my notifications tab brimming over with all manner of gendered and sexualised attacks in response to opinions, links, and, in my case, to goofy jokes and memes. Most days, I thought nothing of it. But that morning, probably having seen some particularly nasty threats, I followed a whim to my neighbourhood police station.
